Over the past year, the bank has remained steadfast in our commitment to giving back to the communities of Bastrop County that have made us so successful. This commitment extends beyond financial support to include the personal dedication of our bank family. By leveraging the unique expertise and passion of our dedicated bankers, we continue to invest in the long-term growth and well-being of the neighbors we have proudly served since 1889.
One of the most significant needs within our community is access to comprehensive financial literacy education. To address this need, our team has worked diligently to deliver educational programs in local schools, churches, branch locations, and other civic spaces. Among these efforts, the work of Victoria Castaneda has been uniquely impactful. Her tireless energy and dedication to this mission have been unparalleled throughout the year, setting a high standard for community service within the organization. With her support and leadership, the bank directed 47 financial literacy programs in 2025, educating more than 2000 Bastrop residents. Her initiatives touched every corner of the community, from hosting in-branch financial education sessions to helping establish the Hispanic Business Chamber, where she currently serves as a Director. Her commitment to the next generation is equally profound; in partnership with Bastrop ISD, she spearheaded the creation of “Banking Buddies, “a multi-week summer financial literacy program for children. Victoria also collaborated with the American Bankers Association (ABA) to introduce a financial literacy video challenge specifically for high school students throughout Bastrop ISD.
